Laura Phipps – Head of Communications, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Director of External Affairs, Early Detection of Neurodegenerative diseases (EDoN)
Laura Phipps is Head of Communications at Alzheimer’s Research UK. She leads a multidisciplinary department across PR and media, human stories, science communication, insight and messaging development, and oversees the delivery of communications campaigns. She supports teams involved in public engagement, health information and dissemination and was instrumental in setting up the Dementia Research Infoline and Join Dementia Research, the first national recruitment register for dementia research.
She is also Director of External Affairs (two days a week) for the Early Detection of Neurodegenerative diseases (EDoN) research initiative, a global collaboration bringing together over 35 universities, institutes, cohorts, research programmes and technology companies to develop digital technology to detect the early signs of neurodegenerative diseases.
Laura supports the Young Dementia Network in their work to raise public awareness of young onset dementia, as well as ensuring that information about young onset dementia reaches the widest audience possible.
