Dr Janet Carter

Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist at North East London NHS Trust

Dr Carter is a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry. She runs a cognitive disorder clinic for people under 65 with suspected cognitive impairment within the Havering memory service.

Janet has published research on services for young onset dementia in the UK and was the Chief Investigator for a three-year project – The Angela Project – funded by the Alzheimer’s Society to improve diagnosis and post-diagnostic support for younger people living with dementia.

Janet leads the Young Dementia Network’s Diagnosis and post-diagnosis workstream.
